WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT BULLTOFTAPARKEN?

 

 

The Bulltofta recreation area is situated in the north-eastern part of Malmö. The park was made in 1980’s in the part of the territory of former Bulltofta airport that was the main airport for the city during 1923–1972. Now you can see remaining passenger terminal with the control tower, hangars and radar tower. Also The Science and Maritime House has interesting exhibition devoted to the Bulltofta airport. After the airport’s closure the whole territory used for residential, commercial, transport and recreational purposes.

 

 

 

Bulltofta flygplats

Today Bulltoftaparken is the largest green zone of the city that is bigger than Slotts-, Kungs- and Pildammsparken all together. It is a unique place with rich landscape, flora and fauna. You can find forest, lakes, meadows, hills and marshlands here. The park is a home for many birds and animals, more than 35 bird species nest there that makes Bulltoftaparken a perfect place for birdwatching and animals spotting.

 

The recreation area is divided into several zones:

  • nature zone with different kinds of landscape,

  • park zone with allotment gardens, places for picnic and arboretum (a botanical garden with exotic trees,

  • sports zone with places for numerous outdoor activities (jogging, freebee golf, orienteering, cricket, football, mimi golf, etc.)
